R&D (Overview)
Origin focuses on developing better crop varieties for the benefit
of our custom ers.
What set us apart from other entities is our ability to have a clear
vision of what we want to accomplish and how to execute to achieve
our goals.
We are successful in R&D for the following reasons:
Sensitivity: We are sensitive to
the needs of our customers.
Biotechnology: We realize the potential
impact of biotechnology on product development, and building a team
that uses the most advanced facilities, equipment, and methodology
in our research. Our ultimate goal is to insert traits into our
products, and integrate biotechnology with conventional breeding.
Global and local germplasm resource: We
have a wide variety of germplasm resources. We are utilizing both
the local germplasm, which has a long breeding history and excellent
local adaptation, and the germplasm from overseas in our breeding
programs.
Crop improvement:  Beside
corn we are expanding our research activities in rice, cotton, and
canola in China. We recognize that with the long history of rice
improvement in China, our germplasm is unique and our efforts in
bring new varieties into the market will be successful. We already
are successful in marketing Bt cotton varieties in China.
Cooperation: We have strong ties with academic
and research organizations within China. We know these co-operations
will enable us to expand join research efforts and materialize them
into products that benefit our customers.
